Does this upgrade information apply to ALL models of the aq-5000 sold since it’s inception? Actually there was a design change in aq-5000 units manufactured and shipped after approximately April 1999. The older instruments employed a two-piece wand assembly while instruments manufactured after that time were made using a one-piece wand assembly. The instruments that have the two-piece wand assembly cannot be upgraded but, since we are always looking to delight our customers, a special offer is being extended to owners of these instruments allowing them to economically move up to an AQ5000 Pro or AQ50001 Pro. I am a current user of an aq-5000 or an aq-5001. How long will Quest continue to support these? Quest will continue to provide Help Desk Support, repair and recalibration services indefinitely for all existing aq-5000 and aq-5001 users. Firmware updates (fixes to existing firmware functionality) will continue for a period of twelve months following release of the AQ5000Pro and AQ5001Pro. Future firmware upgrades (enhancements to firmware functionality) will be facilitated through the AQ5000Pro and AQ5001Pro.
